Regis McKenna is best known for helping start several Silicon Valley firms during the 1970s and 1980s with his own marketing firm, Regis McKenna, Inc., founded in 1970.
In 1977, Janoff worked for Regis McKenna as an art director and was tasked to design the logo for Apple Computer, creating an apple with a bite out of it, included so that people did not mistake the apple for a tomato or another fruit.
